Discovery Foundation is a not-for-profit society, while  Discovery Parks Trust, managed by Discovery Parks Holdings Limited, is a for profit enterprise that operates with full market discipline.

About Discovery Foundation

Discovery Foundation is a not-for-profit society, working co-operatively with Discovery Parks Trust for the benefit of British Columbia’s technology industries.

Discovery Foundation's mandate is to utilize its assets for the benefit of the people of British Columbia.

Established by the Provincial Government in 1979, Discovery Foundation was created to promote and support the province's high technology research and development industry.

Discovery Parks Trust

Discovery Parks Trust is the beneficial owner of the Foundation's assets, and is responsible for the day-to-day leasing, development and sales activities of the Foundation. Its focus lies in the following two areas:

• Build and operate multi-tenant facilities on campuses that are intended to foster the commercialization of post-secondary research by housing spin-off companies, and those seeking to develop relationships with post-secondary institutions.
  
• Build and operate both single and multi-tenant facilities off campuses to continue their growth.
  
• Advance sustainable technology in the commercial building industry.
